This blog is so dead.. Just like how i am.
But today is the D-Day, full of life and action.
49th National Inter-School Cross Country 2008
The Cross journey has come to an end. I have been much looking forward to this ending for it signifies liberation. Finally i can have a NORMAL timetable and have time to brush up on my pathetic studies. It was an ending with much expected outcome. I was among the last few.. OF THE 'A' DIVISION.
I reached tgt with an rjc guy from 'A' division, who started bout 5 mins LATTER and ran 600M MORE. Then just behind me was allan. Eww he was 2nd again. Heard him saying that he was actually leading all the way, until during the last 100M the rjc guy went to chiong and caught him by surprise. Haha, must be one of mrQ's tactics ^^ Oh btw allan helped us took group photos. The guys were like quite paiseh to ask sucha champion to take photo for us. haha. Ahh he is really cool, exemplary, role model. Hmm i am starting to speak in a fanatic tone. tsk tsk.
I got overtaken by shisang at the last 100M too. However since we are from the same school, it is still alright ba.. BUT, cant i just chiong, sustain and hold on A LITTLE BIT longer??? ahhhh...
At about the last 500M, mrQ was there on the roadside. I presume he was waiting for his rjc guys (since the rjc gals have long passed me). But what he said, i will rmb forever.
"come on weiling it's the last stretch jiayou" clap clap.
i cant really recall the exact words, but it is along that line. He has really exerted a profound influence upon me. Although it was a short 2 years journey, the lessons and the discipline i have learn will benefit me for even 20 years down the road. That being said, i have never give in my all for running. The multitude of commitments simply stripped and grabbed all my energy, sparing little i can put in for running. whats more with the ever present weak mental, weak perseverance, weak determination and WEAK ENVIRONMENT. All the obstacles i have not been able to overcome it, thus failing to achieve my peak or personal best.
I am sad that i have never thank him in person, and i wonder when will be the next time i can see him? Perhaps during july national track & field when i will be going as an unfit spectator. Lol..
The running experience is a truly unique one. One will never be able to feel the sentiments unless undergoing it personally. It is a long tiring journey, sometime even boring, since you just run and run and run. This virgin attempt at National Inter-school Cross Country leave deep regrets for it is the final one too. There is no chance for further amendments. All you can do is to look back and lament. I wish, that i could have join Cross during Sec 1 & 2. But at that time, i was simply not good enough. I put in laudable efforts, but the standard was still not there yet and i have to struggle with badminton. So maybe i should wish this instead - that mrQ never leave css, so i can continue with my running, and becoming someone that is different from me today.
After the boys race, we sat outside the corridors for there was a heavy downpour. I stoned for a very long time, looking like a downright defeatist, staring into the many passer-bys. I felt so numb then, my mind refused to process its thoughts and my heart trying to deny of its feelings.
It is amazing that i didnt cry. Oh, maybe i will, when i am alone in the night, when the senses are all are awake to force out the true emotions.
